Agency History & Overview
Established in 1981 as a partnership between James Ferguson (the "J") and Karl Grabowski (the "K"), J & K Sales Associates started off as a small two person commission only Sales Rep firm working out of home offices in Haverhill, MA and Portland, CT. In 1986 Karl purchased Jim's interest in the partnership. In 1989 the firm incorporated as a Sub S corporation and moved into a 4,000 square foot office and warehouse in Manchester, NH.
Currently the agency employs 23 people and is headquartered in a 28,000 square foot warehouse and over 4,500 square feet of office space. Our facility includes a 35-seat training classroom and a state-of-the-art live-fire hydronics training lab. Our personnel include the following individuals by job function.
Five Residential/Light Commercial Outside Sales People covering all Plumbing, Heating, HVAC and ACR distributors in the six New England States. These individuals also have direct account responsibilities in the secondary market with major contractors.
Five members of our Contractor/Engineer Secondary Market Technical Training and Support Group. One of these individuals is charged with our specification efforts with major engineering firms in the Boston, MA, Providence, RI, and Hartford, CT triangle. Another individual acts as our Outside and Inside Technical Training Manager and is responsible for all Technical Training efforts with both our primary and secondary customer base. The third individual also assists with training and support. The fourth and fifth individuals within this team are fully licensed plumbing and heating contractor specialists whose primary function is to provide high level technical training support for our technical product lines.
One Person MD, or Merchandising /Demonstration Specialist. This individual has no direct account responsibilities. His sole function is to support sales activities and build product line identity at the secondary market level, i.e. Plumbing, HVAC, ACR and Mechanical Contractors.
Our entire outside sales and technical support groups are supported by a seven person Inside Sales/CustomerService, Sales Administration and Technical Support Staff.
Our remaining staff is comprised ofWarehouse and Back Office Personnel.
